Galle Fort Villas |

The Galle Fort is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and occupies a south-pointing promontory from the city of Galle. Mostly built by the Dutch in 1663 it is delightfully quiet and peaceful. One of the most pleasant strolls you can do is to walk around the 36 hectares on the rampart walls at sunrise or sunset. The northern section of wall which faces the town was built by the British in 1873 and it is from here that you get an almost birds eye view of the international cricket pitch. The villas we have selected are all fabulous and all different. All have been lovingly, and with much attention to detail, renovated back to a Dutch achitectural period whilst incorporating modern living requirements and standards. In addition to several shops and restaurants inside the walls there are a few small beaches and some of the best snorkling. |
