Located about 8km from the historic town of Galle 23 Palm sits in 2 acres with direct beach access and about 130m beach frontage. |

The entrance to the property is on the eastern end of the plot. The house itself is at the other end but a large high-roofed beach side pavilion is immediately in front of you. This pavilion provides a day time comfort zone to chill and watch the waves crash over the reef, as well as for cocktails as the sun slips into the ocean. |

The long rectangular pool sits inbetween the pavilion and house and is built so that it is flush with the garden and sea. |

The house itself is raised from the garden. It is a linear design with the bedrooms on either side of a sumptous sitting room. There is a granite stone terrace running along the length of ther house that has a breakfast table as well as lounge chairs and affords fabulous views across the garden and out to sea. |

Great care has been taken with the interiors. This is no 'holiday home'. It is a home, full of personal items from overseas as well as Sri Lanka that reflect the character of the American owner. |

The bedroom suites are large and have very high ceilings. The window shutters filter the sunlight and create a dappled effect across the polished cement tiles. The colours are cool and inviting. Each bedroom has air conditioning. |

Behind the 4 poster beds with gorgeous linen stands four columns a curious water feature and bathroom sink. The shower is separate. |

This is a most beautiful beach house lovingly decorated. I suggest it is not the place for small children - you would be too worried chasing after them. It is a house for those who enjoy style and have no need to rush. |

Switzerland - Eric Schmid , 23 palm is a fantastic villa. Superbe location and a lot of space to yourself. The best thing about the villa though, is its staff. From Lasantha to Muthumal and all the others, they are just fantastic. |
